Interview :

Hello Marboc, it’s a pleasure to have you for the podcast.
Hi, I am thrilled I could join Elektrotribe.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself, where you come from & how did you get started with electronic music?
I was born and grew up in a small town in Poland. My family is not especially musically talented. My dad tried to play the drums, but gave up pretty quickly as I used to be a demanding kid 🙂 I was crazy about music from the early beginnings. My classmates were all Hip-hop fans, but I always felt a thing for electro. My favourite artists at that time wereAxwell, Dubfire, Deadmau5, Klass.
My first EP came out when I was eighteen. I gave it the name „Xpand” and released it inthe label Grooved Music. The label does not exist anymore. This was my first step into my career. I wanted to feel and express more and morewith every track I was creating- Electro was only a stop in my journey. I started getting to know other music genres like Progressive or TechHouse. One day I just fell for techno completely.

What are your main influences & what inspires your productions?
I love the unknown and not yet discovered. Music gives us all the possibility to reach the places where we have never been before. It’s a whole universe for me, allows me to completely immerse myself and think about my next track. I create almost all my tracks at night when I can search for deep, dark tones that will give my music the desired structure. It’s not always easy to find but I keep digging. I look for the inspiration in nature too. I love the dead silence- I can focus there and imagine how my next track will look like and how to make it happen in my studio.

Some artists you especially like?
I do really like a lot of them! There is a very good group of polish artists. I am thrilled that polish artists are recognized worldwide, like SEPT who had a release on Elektrotribe as well.
It is worth mentioning artists like DEAS, Concept Of Thrill,Michał Jabłoński, Larix, Rraph or Kuba Sojka.
Mt favorite foreign performers are Cleric, Oscar Mullero, Vertical Spectrum, Gotshell and Shlomo

How do you combine your everyday life and your musical passion?
It’s not that hard in my case.At daytime, besides playing in clubs, I am working in the audio industry. I often use my work equipment to test my not yet released tracks. In my free time I hang out with my friends. Music is of course the main topic! Sometimes I need to take a break from music, especially after my show. During this time I like to go for a walk or travel.

Could you name us 5 records that changed your life?

The first track I have heard in a club. I can still remember how it impressed me back then. It was the first time when I tried to disassemble the music I was hearing.

This track allowed me to think about the structure differently. All barriers can be demolished easily- this is a perfect example

I absolutely love how the quality of the tones. Robert Babicz sounds perfect everytime, wherever I play his tracks.

Here is something form my own production.
That track help me find wings. It was test for my solution about background dark sounds.

The latest track especialy released on Elektrotribe. Experience & tools helped finish my track LEA

And finally what can we be looking forward to in the coming months?
I have recently joined Nocturn and Rise Agency collectives. Together we are working on new bookings for the upcoming year and a new album called Make It Happen II. In the meantime I am finishing my new material for a new EP. I hope it will be released on a vinyl! It would be my first very own vinyl. I always wanted to manage my own label that would unite techno fans globally. I hope the label could have its own podcasts with interesting artists.
